2024 Practice Update
Dear Neighbors and Friends,
In 2024 and beyond, I am amending the types of services I provide.
I am focusing more intently on Estate Planning and working with Small Businesses and Nonprofits. This will be my practice’s primary focus in 2024 and beyond.
I am proud to announce that I have co-founded a new 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization called Identity Affirmation Workshop to continue and expand the work we do for affirming name and gender changes. Please check out our beautiful new website!
I have decided to stop taking all new cases involving litigation (lawsuits), except Restraining Orders, which will be considered on a case-by-case basis. If you are experiencing a housing issue requiring litigation, I am still happy to meet with you and provide a referral, but I will not be taking on any new housing matters at this time.
Any people with problems in the areas of landlord-tenant, civil litigation, restraining orders, and most other services I formerly charged hourly for will be referred to local, competent, and professional attorneys and law firms. I only refer people to attorneys and law firms I myself would hire and I consider it a privilege to be able to help people access the help they need.

About Alex
Alex (they/them) is a Jewish, queer, non-binary, Bay Area native, who has made San Francisco’s Castro District their home since 2013. They live with their husband, Kevin Cureton, and legal assistant/dog, Pumpkin.
Safety and Accessibility
For new client intakes, Alex gives you the option to meet via Zoom or in person in their Castro District office. Alex is fully vaccinated (including boosters, most recently in Sept. 2023) against COVID-19.
Please note that Alex’s office is on the second floor of a building with only stairs. If an in-person meeting is desired and the office is not physically accessible to you for any reason, Alex will come to your home or another convenient location at no cost.
Hours listed on Google are accurate and kept up-to-date, but timing is always flexible depending on your needs. If none of the appointment slots online work for you, call or email Alex and we’ll set up a custom appointment for you.
